Report on the London Museums Hub project to record refugee heritage, 2004-06.

This report presents the preliminary findings from the Hub's refugee heritage project, which outline how community-based museum projects can produce benefits for individuals, communities and organisations. It shows that, if this work is to continue, museums need to understand that short-term outreach projects need to be part of a wider drive to change the composition of collections, displays and the workforce. This requires commitment from all levels of the organisation and from external funders. The Hub hopes that pilot projects like this make a step towards raising awareness of some of the issues involved and developing a language to begin to describe the benefits of this work, to ensure that it is backed - in the way it deserves to be.
